1. X-ray Scattering and Chemometrics as Tools to Assist in the Identification of Gunshot Residues by Wavelength Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry
Wavelength dispersion X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (WDXRF) is a non-destructive technique and therefore attractive for gunshot residues (GSR) analysis. It is well known for determination of inorganic constituents of samples. However, X-ray scattering region spectral data is not commonly used, although it may provide information about organic constituents

2. Adenylosuccinate Lyase from Leishmania major Friedlin and its role in the purine nucleotides salvage pathway / Adenylosuccinato lyase (ADSL) de leishmania major friedlin: sua relevância na via de recuperação de purino-nucleotídeos
Many species of Leishmania are responsible for serious visceral or skin diseases that exhibit high incidence in tropical and subtropical regions. The drugs currently employed in the treatment of parasitic diseases are potentially carcinogenic, often require prolonged treatment and patient hospitalization. An effective program of drug design requires the vali

3. Efeitos não lineares em fibras oticas de dispersão deslocada
We present a theoretical and experimental study of four-wave mixing interactions between one or two lasers and noise in dispersion-shifted fibers, near the zero dispersion wavelength. We develop a simple frequency domain model of noise propagation in the presence of one or two lasers. We obtain good agreement between numerical and the experimental results. W

4. The anomalous dispersion of the disorder-induced and the second-order Raman Bands in Carbon Nanotubes
In this work we have studied the dispersion of the disorder-induced (D) and the second-order (G') Raman bands in single wall carbon nanotubes using several laser excitation energies (E laser) in the range 1.5-3.0 eV. An anomalous step-like behavior was observed in the E laser dependence of the G'-band frequency. This result is interpreted as a manifestation

5. Nanoparticulas de ouro passivadas com tiois : caracterização estrutural e formação de supercristais auto-organizados
Nanometer-sized particles (1-100 nm) have attracted great interest since their high surface-to-volume ratio may lead to novel physical and chemical attributes. In particular, they can be used as building blocks to produce ideal nanostructured solids (cluster-assembled materials ? CAMs), which involves three steps: synthesis, characterization of individual pr

6. Medidas de dispersão anômala de raios-x. / X-rays anomalous dispersion measurement.

7. Configuration of the four iron atoms in dissolved human hemoglobin as studied by anomalous dispersion.
The anomalous dispersion of iron at its K-absorption edge in small-angle scattering of an aqueous solution of hemoglobin has been used to establish the geometrical arrangement of the four iron atoms in this protein. Although the anomalous contributions are 0.001-0.01 of the total scattering, experiments with synchrotron radiation from the storage ring DORIS

10. Selenium derivatization and crystallization of DNA and RNA oligonucleotides for X-ray crystallography using multiple anomalous dispersion
We report here the solid phase synthesis of RNA and DNA oligonucleotides containing the 2′-selenium functionality for X-ray crystallography using multiwavelength anomalous dispersion. We have synthesized the novel 2′-methylseleno cytidine phosphoramidite and improved the accessibility of the 2′-methylseleno uridine phosphoramidite for the synthesis of

11. Crystallization and X-ray analysis of human cytoplasmic phenylalanyl-tRNA synthetase
The crystallization and X-ray analysis of recombinant human cytosolic phenylalanyl-tRNA synthetase (hcPheRS) are reported. Diffraction data were collected to 3.3 Å resolution and the hcPheRS structure was determined by the molecular-replacement method using phase information derived from multiwavelength anomalous dispersion data.

12. Expression, purification, crystallization and preliminary crystallographic study of the SRA domain of the human UHRF1 protein
The SET- and RING finger-associated (SRA) domain of human UHRF1 protein has been overexpressed in E. coli, purified and crystallized. The three-dimensional structure of the protein in its SeMet form was solved from 2.2 Å diffraction data using the multiple anomalous dispersion method.
