RESUMO
Unmethylated or methylated 12 to 18S mRNA's synthesized in vitro by the virion-associated RNA polymerase of vesicular stomatitis virus contain the 5′-terminal hexanucleotide sequence G(5′)ppp(5′)ApApCpApGp... or m 7G(5′)ppp(5′)ApmApCpApGp..., respectively. The implication of these results in relation to the regulation of transcription in vesicular stomatitis virus is discussed.
