A familia Melastomataceae Juss. nas formações campestres do municipio de Carrancas, Minas Gerais

RESUMO

A floristic survey of Melastomataceae species of Carrancas, south of Minas Gerais is presented. The materiaIs studied are concemed to field colIetions from March 1997 to November 1998, which are included in the herbarium UEC, and also, to previous and subsequent field colIetion, which took place in the studied area, from the herbaria UEC and ESAL. A total of 46 species in 16 genera was recorded. The genera, with their respective species number were: Miconia e Tibouchina (8 species each), folIowed by Leandra (07 species), Microlicia (06 species), Lavoisiera (03 species), Clidemia, Trembleya e Svitramia (02 species each), Acisanthera, Cambessedesia, Chaetostoma, Marcetia, Ossaea, Pterolepis, Rhynchanthera e Siphanthera (01 species each). Whithout taking into account the species of broad distribution, Carrancas presents a few species in common with others mountain range, along of Cadeia do Espinhaço and of Chapada Diamantina in Minas Gerais and Bahia. The same is observed in relation to Distrito Federal and to Chapada dos Veadeiros-Goiás. The Svitramia genus, which occurs in the southem and southwestem of Minas Gerais, and is not found in the Cadeia do Espinhaço, is a feature of the studied area. Identification keys and descriptions of alI genera and species are presented with morphological variation commentaries, together with notes on flowering and fruting seasons, and also, geographic distribution
