Analise de proporções divinas em telerradiografias de perfil de pacientes submetidos a cirurgia de retroposicionamento mandibular

RESUMO

The muscular and aesthetic facial balance of surgical Class patients can be effectively improved through the combined surgi cal - orthodontic treatment. This studyaims to evaluate Fibonacci s divine proportions occurrence and the eventual adequacy of the study group to, those proportions after treatment. A sample of 20 lateral teleradiographies of 10 Brasilians white young adults, from 17 to 30 years-old, whit a .mean age of 20,9 years,were studied. These patients showed a Angle Class lU maloc1usion, with prognatism mandibular and were submitted, in sequence, to orthodontic treatment - orthognatic surgery for mandibular retropositioning - complementing orthodontic treatment. The following proportions were evaluated: Co-Xi I Xi-Pm, Cc-Go I Cc-gn, Cc-Xi ENA I Xi ENA Gn, A-1 /1-Pm e P Fr- I A-Pm. After statistical analysis, one may conclude ~hat the divine proportions were not observed either before or after treatment. Among the proportions studied the least alterations were observed in PFr-A I A-Pm and the most prominent changes occurred in Co-Xi I Xi-Pm. The combined surgical orthodontic treatment resulted, never the less, in an improvement in 97,76% of the proportions studied, with a tendency towards the expected proportions
