RESUMO

Educational games are important tools to assist the process of teaching and Iearning as they aIIow simulating concepts in a virtual environment and foster coIIaboration and communication among students. But, in order to develop an educational game, one should have in mind that electronic games are softwares and in turn their development suffers the same problems and difficulties known in software engineering when it comes to traditional software development Added to these problems there is the need to meet the educational and also the specific requirements of a game: educational requirements consist of an entire syllabus of a particular subject or course requirements and the gaming factor is one of the features that differentiates a software from a game. This work proposes an educational game architecture aimed to heIp or reduce rework in the development of simulation and strategy educational games. We also describe an experience of developing a game about rural management using the proposed architecture as evidence of the applicability of the proposed architecture.
