RESUMO

Among all the achievements reached by the SUS, the changes aiming at the resource and activity decentralization and expanding the provision of health services are the most evident. Concerning the integrality, however, progress has not proceeded at the same pace, becoming one of the biggest challenges for the system. Research on integrality often compare the use, by the population,of the services of different features and levels of complexity to the standardized pattern of requirements and flow of routing. The outcomes of these studies provide a macro view of the capacity of networks of care to ensure the attendance at all levels of complexity. Understanding the problems that interfere with the structure, process and results of the system of care require the use of qualitative methodologies from the actors who are on the edge of the system. In this research, it is attempted to identify the issues that affect the care provision to users of a polyclinic, which performs treatment due to vocal change. Its goal is to identify the presence of the integrality in the care of municipal teachers diagnosed with dysphonia from the reconstitution of the therapeutic journey, focusing on the view of the user. The Oral History technique was used with the teachers from the Municipal Education Network. The interviews followed a semi-structured, recorded, transcribed and subjected to content analysis. Based on the integrality perspective as the comprehensive understanding of the individual needs of users, guiding principle of practice of health professionals, the study found out that symptoms of voice change are detected initially by actors outside the health services: co-workers, friends and family, working with either the care or carelessness. Health care professionals have a key role in this chain of care, being the actor who identifies the real needs, promoting integral care.
