RESUMO

A review of the evolution of the use of piled raft, the differences of this foundation type with the conventional pile groups and as it these conception is important to evaluate the damage in a foundation. The main damages happened in the foundations are presented and some cases moderated in the literature on reinforcement of foundations, forecast of bearing capacity and settlement. It is commented about two softwares developed especially for these foundations. Some hypothetical cases of pile groups were analyzed, being used a mixed method and a program in finite elements (3-D) to evaluate the behaviors of these cases. For the interaction factors some were observed divergences among the results obtained by different calculation methodologies, showing that one should be careful when comparing these results, because, these can have significant influence in the results of the analyses. Parametric analyses were accomplished for three original groups and of these several damage configurations were analyzed and of reinforcement, this with similar properties and different from the original piles, which aimed at to analyze the influence of the several presented configurations, as well as of each component of the system. These results are analyzed and compared with the forecasts done by the hybrid method (GARP). It is finally presented the results of the analyses of load capacity were presented, of answer load x settlement of the foundation system and the portion of absorbed load for each element of the system in the three situations: the intact group, the damaged group and reinforced group, based, also, in safety factors for each pile and of the global safety factors.
