RESUMO
In this dissertation singularities of certain classes of vector fields in lRn are studied. The main goal is to study the behavior of the local dynamics around degenerate singularities. Normal forms, unfoldings and interactions between certain elementary bifurcations (saddle-node, transcritical, pitchfork and histeresis) and Hopf bifurcation are presented. Poincaré-Birkhoff normal form theorem and Liapunov-Schmidt reduction are fundamental tools, in our approach. We also developed an efficient computational algorithm which allows to obtain the required normal forms
