RESUMO

This work proposes to make comparisons between conventional substations and those insulated at SF6 in relation to the strokes over voltage levels caused by lightning. So that these comparisons could be made, we have adopted the same voltage class (500 kV) and the same configuration. The work was divided into two parts. The first introduce which greatly help the digital understanding and simulation, presented in the second part of this work. With those simulations, comparisons can be made and important and interesting conclusions can be taken in relation to over voltages so that correct equipment and technology selection for the substation could be chosen
