RESUMO

The main objective of this work was the study of trace elements transfer (Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb, Cr e Hg) from the atmosphere to the soil, through litterfall. To achieve this objective an integrated sampling program was stablished in two small hydrografic regions located in the Atlantic rain forest, one being in an area under antropogenic influences from the metropolitan region of São Paulo in the Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga (PEFI) and the other in a natural area, in the Serra do Mar, near Cunha. In both, the litterfall sampling were done monthly and the soil sampling semestrally. The samples were digested with acid and the metal concentrations were determinated by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry and Atomic Emission Spectrometry. The quantification of these chemical elements at diferent sampling points allowed to establish a relationship between the transfers of these species in the interfaces atmosphere-vegetation-soil and their seasonal variation. The comparation between the two contrasting areas allowed to evaluated the antropogenic influence under these fluxes, and to compare the depositions with the reserve of elements present in the superficial soil
