RESUMO

X-Ray Computerized Tomography (Cf) is a non destructive analysis technique that allows the visualization of the internal structure of an object. Its applications in the petroleum industry include, among others, reservoir rock characterization and multiphase fluid flow studies in pomus media. This work presents the principIes of this imaging technique and the calculation procedures to obtain porosity and saturation for two and three-phase systems. Two practical applications are shown, with emphasis on the quantitative evaluation of those parameters. In the fIrst one, it was possible to visualize the end-effect phenomenon during a linear displacement testo In the second, the results of a bidimensional displacement test were compared with those obtained from a strearnline model
