RESUMO

Samples of Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu, Brachiaria decumbens cv. Basilisk e Panicum maximum cv. Tanzania were collected in the dry season. After the bothanical separation resulting in morphological compounds like leaves, stems and dead matter, the samples were submitted to 55C and 65C temperature for pre-drying. A bromathological analysis was performed to determine the protein and carbohydrate fractions and the in vitro organic digestibility value (IVOMD). Neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), acid detergent lignin (ADL), acid detergent insoluble protein (ADIP), non-proteic nitrogen percentage from soluble protein (NNP %Sol.P.) increased and IVOMD and soluble protein (Sol. P.) was reduced in the 65C treatment showing Maillard reaction. There were changes at the carbohydrate and protein fractions, especially in the C fractions which increased at the higher temperature. There also were more differences among the morphological compounds than among the grass species. The nutritive value of the hand plucked samples (HP) was better than the one of the whole plant (air part, estimated by the pondered means of morphological compounds sums), giving evidence of the cattle diet quality being different from the forage quality collected by totally air cut.
