RESUMO

The aim of the present study was to analyze electromyographycally a one minute test protocol of isometric contractions of the following muscles semitendineous, biceps femuris (long head) and gastrocnemius (lateral head) at 90° of knee flection. Ten female volunteers aged 18 to 29 have been tested. Ali volunteers had no signs of muscular-skeletal diseases and ali reported regular physical activity. Ali volunteers had similar anthropometry. Prior to the proposed test, a maximal load (1-RM) test was performed, where it was used 50%,60% and 70% of it, on the dominant leg. The volunteer was in a ventral decubital position on a "Leg Curl" table (Body Soli®),with the knee at 90° inclination, and remained in isometric contraction for one minute where at every 5 seconds an electromyographic register was made. A random selection of loads was used for each test. The test consisted of an isometric contraction during 1 minute with a 50%, 60% and 70% load of the maximal obtained. There was a rest interval of 30 minutes among the 3 tests and ali them were done on the same day. Based on the results obtained it was verified a gradually increasing of the muscular activity of the semitendineous, biceps femuris (long head) and gastrocnemius (lateral head) due to the time, it can be concluded that the proposed test is reliable as a model for the development of fatigue and its interpretation by means of electromyography.
