RESUMO

This paper has by objective to analyse if the distance education courses care with the human formation and not only intellectual of all the human people who participate of them. It also aims to realize how this human formation provided by distance education can help the people to practise their citizenship contributing to the social transformation, as to realize the limits and the possibilities that a distance education course has. It can affirm that in the investigated material about distance education there is the preoccupation with this human formation for the full exercise of the citizenship. To think about distance education imposes that we surpass the idea that it is only a mean, a mode, a modality, a system. We need to think about it, before everything, as a possibility of a (re)signification of school education. The perspectives of the distance education are on the hands of those who dispose to do it, with seriousness and ethic compromise, warranting conditions of success.
