RESUMO
This work presents a theoretical and experimental study related to the influence of the workpiece and die roughnesses on the pressure acting in the hydrostatic extrusion of aluminum. A study of the lubrication regimes of the process is carried out. The friction coefficients are calculated by means of analytical expressions derivated from extrusion mechanics. Finally, surface roughness of the issuing products is discussed as a function of the die finish and initial roughness of workpieces shaped as little cilinders
