RESUMO

We propose in this paper the unidimensional mathematical model of a vertical pneumatic dryer and verify the influence of porosity variation on the model. The model equations are obtained from the equations of momentum, energy and mass conservation. Eight of these equations are proposed, involuing fluid velocity, solid velocity, pressure, porosity, fluid and solid temperatures and fluid and solid humidities as variables. The results obtained are then compared with the experimental ones derived from experiments with glass spheres with average diameter of 0.24mm and sand particles with average diameter of 0.46mm and 0.55mm.
