RESUMO

This paper discusses the relationship between space and Law is addressed, remitting to Geography, as it is the branch of science that studies space. The interconnection between Geography and Law is then discussed, as a trend studying such interconnection manifested in North and Latin Americas and in Europe, seeking geographic dimension of the norm, by means of elements of territory and of scale, in its international, national, regional and local dimensions. Geography and Law are corelated in the sense that the former establishes geographic limits for the practice of the coercing power of the latter. Observing such theoretical-methodological aspect, the way geographic limits act in space is then analyzed, so as to challenge social and regional inequalities provided for in the Federal Constitution and in the Acts, proposing new ways to comprehend Geography.
