RESUMO

This dissertation has as central theme the analysis of work concrete process of workers in an specific segment, as well as the social representations on the work process involving body, health and illness. The study selected a mixed economy company or Campinas - S.P., wich is intended to the intermediation of farmer-fruit-horticulture, with special treatment to workers categories (autonomous and employed) that act in the loading and discharge of those products. The workers are submitted to hard manual work, that involves intense corporal use under quite precarious instrumental and environmental conditions. It is characterized by a qualitative and exploratory nature study, which used sociological and anthropological references for its analysis
