RESUMO
The formation of phosphoenolpyruvate from pyruvate and adenosine 5′-triphosphate by enzymes from photosynthetic bacteria required inorganic phosphate, thus indicating that these organisms utilize pyruvate, orthophosphate dikinase rather than phosphoenolpyruvate synthase in photosynthesis.
