RESUMO
The purpose of this study is to discuss the teacherss experience related with the insertion process of deaf students at public schools in Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul state, Brasil. Considering the teacherss statements, we analysed the conceptions of the specific education which was being applied at public schools. It is important to mention that. We select the schools which had the majority of deaf students enrolled in the school in the school year of 2004. We also choose the teachers who had an experience in the teaching of deaf students. This study shows a qualitative characteristic centrated on the a descriptive analytical research. It was possible to get such conclusions: There is a lack of specific formation to deal with deafs students. The majority of the teachers who were interviewed mentioned that they used intuitively their pedagogical practices. The dialogues between the teachers and deaf students are precarious. They use codes which seem to be the mimic. Consequently, the teachers conceptions about deafness need to be improved. In fact, such practices are guided by personal compromising. In general terms, the education for the deaf students seems to be understood as an exclusive attribution of the teachers who have assumed the responsibility of their execution.
