RESUMO

Immunization (by using as immunogen entire cells of Streptococcus mutans) has showed to develop an inhibition effect against dental caries induced by Streptococcus mutans, in rats, and monkeys. Alot of antigens has been involved as important agents concerni ng to the aderence of denta 1 pl aque to the tooth. In this study, samples of dental plaque was obtained scrapping the mesial third of the buccal surfaces of human decayed upper molars. A cariogénic strain of Streptococcus mutans, serotype ~ was isolated and used as immunogen (vaccine)....Note: The complete abstract is available with the full electronic digital thesis or dissertations
