RESUMO

SICRE is a computational system to help the teaching of 1st degree equation. The implementation is based on the integration of two concepts: SHELL-like tools, used to quickly develop expert systems, and LOGO educational methodology, where the pupils learn through the process of "teaching" the computer. The user provides the rules to the knowledge base, so that he can formalize and make explicit his own knowledge. The system allows the pupil, during the process of solving 1st degree equation, to test the rules and also to correct them, if necessary. This work describes the implementation of SICRE, the use of the system by students and the results obtained.
