RESUMO

The objective of this work was to employ the recycled low density polyethylene as polymeric matrix with wood particles (PM) of eucalypt to obtain composites, in presence of lignin, from residue paper industry, as coupling agent. Besider lignin, PE-g-MA (functionalized polyethylene with maleic anhydride) was also used as coupling agent in order compare the efficiency. Three different compounds were prepared: 40/60, 50/50 e 60/40 (PM/LDPErec). The wood particles were treated with 5 e 10% in mass of coupling agent (lignin or PE-g-MA). To evaluate the efficiency of these coupling agents, the results obtained were compared with composites with untreated wood particles. The mechanical properties were characterized by tensile tests according to ASTM D-638-03 and flexural tests according to ASTM 790-03. Composites with wood particles treated with PE-g-MA ca be improvement in mechanical properties and wettability, whilst the lignin and untreated particles. By 1H NMR in solid state, it was observed that the mobility chains molecular decreased with an increase of wood particles content.
