Variações na dieta e comportamento alimentar de Bryconamericus iheringii (Ostariophysi : Charadidae em quatro riachos da região baixa da Bacia do Rio Tibagi, PR

RESUMO

The present study was developed on four streams with the same proportions of the Tibagi River basin, in the north of Paraná State. Two of them, the Taquari and the Água da Floresta are in the country region. The other two, Cambé and Baroré, are in the city area. The research had the objective of recognizing the diet of the Bryconamericus iheringii on all the four streams, and determines if there is any general behavior on their diet. Four collects were made in each stream. The stomach content was analyzed by quantity and quality. The most important food items was detritous in Taquari, filamentous algae and vegetables in Água da Floresta, vegetables and detritous in Cambé and sedimentous, detritous and insects in Baroré. It was verified that in three of the streams the B. iheringii behaved as an omnivorous species, but on the Taquari river it behaved as a harmful specialist, that could mean the environment may be more harmed than the others. The common part of analyzed streams was the rare stomachs with no content, meaning that the species eat all the time, the quantity of food was not significantly different in three of this streams, only in Taquari river the quantity of food in the stomachs was smaller.
