RESUMO

The imaginaries of the city of a teacher's group, analyzed from a commu nicative perspective are the central focus of this paper. Taking into account that the city is a communicative place, this inquiry - carried out in the context of a learning process with teachers - addressed how it is visible and how it travels in the city. The teachers' biographical narratives about the city and the youth were the keys to better understand how the imaginary of the city is made in relation to the processes and media, and how these relate to their teaching practice.
