2. Clinical Significance of HSCARG for Atherosclerotic Coronary Heart Disease and Reduced ROS-Oxidative Stress in in Vivo and in Vitro Models via p47phox by NF-κB Activity
ABSTRACT Introduction: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a dynamic process in which there are interactions between endothelial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and inflammatory responses. The aim of the present study was to investigate the function and mechanism of HSCARG in the treatment of CHD. Methods: Male apolipoprotein E/low-density lipoprotein receptor-

3. Risk Factors for Deep Sternal Wound Infection after Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting: a Case-Control Study
Abstract Introduction: The objective of this study was to identify risk factors for deep sternal wound infection (DSWI) after off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) grafting surgery. Methods: A total of 8,442 patients undergoing OPCAB from April 1, 2009 to December 31, 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 956 were eventually enrolled on this stu

4. Effects of Physical Exercise on Lipid and Inflammatory Profile of Women Using Combined Oral Contraceptive: A Cross-Over Study
Abstract Background: The use of combined oral contraceptives (COC) is a risk factor for atherosclerotic disease, and physical exercise can minimize this condition. Objective: To verify if high intensity interval training (HIIT) promotes changes in the lipid and inflammatory profile of women using COC. Methods: Sequential crossover study with women aged 20

5. The Anaortic Technique with Bilateral Internal Thoracic Artery Grafting - Filling the Gap in Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery
Abstract Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) has consolidated its role as the most effective procedure for treating patients with advanced atherosclerotic coronary artery disease, reducing the long-term risk of myocardial infarction and death compared to other therapies and relieving angina. Despite the recognized benefits afforded by surgical myocardial

6. Role of Urotensin-II in Saphenous Vein Graft Disease
Abstract Objective: To elucidate the effect of diabetes mellitus (DM) on the atherosclerotic process in saphenous vein grafts by determining urotensin-II (U-II) levels in harvested saphenous veins of patients who underwent coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Methods: Coronary artery disease (CAD) patients who underwent CABG were divided into two groups

8. Inflammation in Cardiovascular Disease: From Basic Concepts to Clinical Application
Abstract Although low-density lipoprotein cholesterol is central to the development and progression of atherosclerosis, the role of inflammation in the atherosclerotic process is becoming better understood and appreciated. Chronic inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, HIV infection, and inflammatory bowel disease have all be

10. Spontaneous Exercise-Related Coronary Artery Dissection among Young Patients Without Risk Factors or Atherosclerotic Disease
