1. A Five-Year Review on Pediatric Foreign Body Aspiration
Abstract Introduction Foreign body aspiration is a leading cause of accidental death in children. Clinical presentation varies from non-specific respiratory symptoms to respiratory failure making diagnosis challenging. Objective To review pediatric patients who underwent bronchoscopy due to suspicion of foreign body aspiration at a tertiary center in Malay

2. Risk factors for intraoperative hypoxemia during monopulmonary ventilation: an observational study

3. Effect of melatonin on antioxidant capacity, ınflammation and apoptotic cell death in lung tissue of diabetic rats
Abstract Purpose: To investigate the effects of melatonin on antioxidant capacity, inflammation and apoptotic cell death (through expression of cleaved-caspase 3) in lung tissue samples of diabetic rats. Methods: Thirty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups. Group 1 (control group) was made up of healthy rats. Group 2 (diabetes

4. Effects of mycophenolate sodium on mucociliary clearance using a bronchial section and anastomosis rodent model
OBJECTIVE: To study the effects of mycophenolate sodium on mucociliary clearance. INTRODUCTION: Mycophenolate is one of the most commonly used immunosuppressive drugs in lung transplantation. Although its pharmacokinetic properties are well defined, its side effects on mucociliary clearance have not yet been studied. METHODS: Sixty rats were subjected to lef

5. Estudo comparativo entre sutura mecânica e manual em brônquio após pneumonectomia esquerda em cães (Canis familiaris): uma avaliação anatomo-patológica, paramétrica, radiológica e broncoscópica / Comparative study between mechanical and manual sutures in the bronchus after left pneumonectomy in the dogs (Canis familiaris): a pathological-anatomic, parametric, radiological and bronchoscopic evaluation
In dogs, comparative experimental studies of the different types of sutures for the synthesis of the main bronchus are scarce, when not all available in this species. Furthermore, there are possible complications due to the poor healing of the bronchus. The objective of this study was to perform an experimental study to be compared under the pathological-ana

6. Analise morfologica e morfometrica dos neuronios ganglionares da traqueia e bronquios de cobaias adultas
The mammalian trachea have been used as an experimental pattern to simulate drug effects over the bronchial smooth muscle cells and has not being completely studied. In order to contribute to the comprehension of the tracheobronchial features we decided to perform a morphological and quantitative approach of guinea-pig tracheobronchial regions. It has been u

7. Demonstration of supernumerary tracheal bronchus by computed tomographic scanning and magnetic resonance imaging.
A bronchus arising directly from the trachea is an infrequent congenital anomaly which usually represents the displaced origin of a normal bronchus. Rarely, a true supernumerary tracheal bronchus occurs supplying an associated tracheal lobe. The case is described of a patient in whom a supernumerary tracheal bronchus and tracheal lobe was demonstrated by com

8. Systemic amyloid associated with carcinoma of the bronchus.
An association of systemic amyloid with a squamous cell carcinoma of the bronchus is described. Amyloid may be associated with myeloma and neuroendocrine tumours but has not been described in squamous cell carcinoma of the bronchus.

9. Phycomycosis of the bronchus
A case of phycomycosis of the bronchus in a 29-year-old diabetic man is reported. The interval between infection and death was not less than 35 days. Infection of the bronchus appears to have been direct. The diagnosis of phycomycosis could have been made before death.

10. Congenital oesophagobronchial fistula in an adult involving left main bronchus.
Congenital fistulae between the tracheobronchial tree and oesophagus usually originate from the lower end of the trachea or right main bronchus. The case history is presented of a man in whom a fistula between the oesophagus and left main bronchus was not diagnosed until the age of 48.

11. Complications during removal of a pedunculated endobronchial leiomyosarcoma
Pedunculated endobronchial leiomyoma or leiomyosarcoma is comparatively rare and is known to produce intermittent, partial or complete obstruction of the ipsilateral lung. Rarely it causes obstruction of the contralateral main bronchus. Fatalities have been caused by obstruction of the contralateral main bronchus during surgery. A pedunculated intrabronchial

12. The avian bronchial arteries: species variations.
The bronchial arteries arose from the oesophagotracheobronchial branches of the common carotid arteries. In the goose, duck, Muscovy duck, and turkey several small bronchial arteries supplied the whole length of each primary bronchus, including the orifices of the secondary bronchi. In the guinea-fowl and quail similar bronchial arteries supplied only the ex
