1. APROVEITAMENTO DE PRECURSORES LIGNOCELULÓSICOS PARA PRODUÇÃO DE ACETATO DE CELULOSE
The feasibility of obtaining cellulose acetate from lignocellulosic precursors is of great interest from the environmental, economic and technological points of view. Herein, sugarcane bagasse and vegetable sponge (Luffa cylindrica ) were used as precursors to produce cellulose using the organosolv extraction procedure. From the extracted celluloses, the pro

2. Comparison of Cellulose Extraction from Sugarcane Bagasse Through Alkali
This article investigated the cellulose obtained from sugarcane bagasse by five different extraction mercerization methods. The comparison of the methods gives a clearer picture of that is more effective and feasible for production of SCB cellulose. All the celluloses were characterised by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR), Thermal

3. Study on the pozzolanic activity of sugar cane straw ash produced using different pretreatments
This work systematically describes a laboratory study on different pretreatments of sugar cane straw to produce pozzolanic ash. Two procedures were used to accelerate the hydrolysis of celluloses and hemicelluloses and remove metallic impurities present in significant levels in sugar cane straw: hot water washing and acid leaching. Proximate analysis by ther

4. Influence of thermal treatment on porosity formation on carbon fiber from textile PAN
Activated carbon fibers (ACFs) are known as an excellent adsorbent material due to their particular characteristics such as their high speed adsorption rate and for being easy to handle. The ACFs are commercially manufactured from carbon fibers (CF) which receive an additional activation process and can be produced from celluloses, phenolic resin, pitch and

5. Functionality of innovative and generic celluloses in metronidazole formulations

7. Biocomposites of lignin-, tannin- and glyoxal- based polymeric matrices reinforced with natural fibers / Biocompósitos a partir de matrizes poliméricas baseadas em lignina, tanino e glioxal reforçadas com fibras naturais
The present study aimed at developing biocomposites combining polymeric matrices and reinforcement agents, employing the highest possible proportion of materials obtained from natural sources. Phenolic resins are widely known and used due to their excellent properties, such as dimensional and thermal stability, flame resistance and chemical resistance. Howev

8. Branched-chain amino acids in cattle nutrition / Ácidos graxos voláteis de cadeia ramificada na nutrição de bovinos
Pasture is the main source of cattle feed, but it is not capable of supplying the animal nutritional requirements completely. Therefore, an adequate management is necessary to improve productivity and reduce costs related to long term production. The search for technology to increase animal performance may be a feasible alternative to reduce costs with cattl

9. Estudo das enzimas produzidas por Trichoderma longibrachiatum responsaveis pela degradação de materiais celulosicos
A total of 626 microorganisms were isolated from samples of soil and biodegraded cellulosic material collected from various areas in Brazil. One mesophilic fungus which was identified as Trichoderma longibrachiatum was selected. The production and characterization of the enzymes, which promote the degradation of cellulosic materials, were studied. Relatively

10. Effect of cellulose fine structure on kinetics of its digestion by mixed ruminal microorganisms in vitro.
The digestion kinetics of a variety of pure celluloses were examined by using an in vitro assay employing mixed ruminal microflora and a modified detergent extraction procedure to recover residual cellulose. Digestion of all of the celluloses was described by a discontinuous first-order rate equation to yield digestion rate constants and discrete lag times.

11. Hyperthermostable Endoglucanase from Pyrococcus horikoshii
An endoglucanase homolog from the hyperthermophilic archaeon Pyrococcus horikoshii was expressed in Escherichia coli, and its enzymatic characteristics were examined. The expressed protein was a hyperthermostable endoglucanase which hydrolyzes celluloses, including Avicel and carboxymethyl cellulose, as well as β-glucose oligomers. This enzyme is the first
