1. Magnetic concentration route for recovering pellet feed fines stored in a mining dam
Abstract The greatest and noblest challenge of mining engineering for the present and the future of iron ore treatment could be considered as the pursuit of optimizing the use of mineral resources. The use of mining tailings, in the mineral sector itself, or in another industrial branch, meets the needs of circular economy as it increases the useful service

2. NANOBIOCATALYTIC SYSTEMS BASED ON LIPASE-Fe3O4 AND CONVENTIONAL SYSTEMS FOR ISONIAZID SYNTHESIS: A COMPARATIVE STUDY
Abstract Superparamagnetic nanomaterials have attracted interest in many areas due to the high saturation magnetization and surface area. For enzyme immobilization, these properties favor the enzyme-support contact during the immobilization reaction and easy separation from the reaction mixture by use of low-cost magnetic processes. Iron oxide magnetic nanop

4. Influência da adição de um fundente sintético no mecanismo de coloração final de revestimentos cerâmicos / The influence of the addition of a synthetic flow in the final color mechanism of ceramic tiles
The presence of iron oxide in ceramic tile mass contributes to the reddish color firing of the products leading to a lower aggregate value, not to be regarded as a "noble" ceramic. However, the use of raw materials with low levels of iron oxides (Fe2O3) is economically unfeasible in Brazil, since most of the deposits have iron compounds as mineral component.

5. Evaluation of activated vegetal charcoal and vegetal polymer on the detoxification of the sugarcane hemicellulosic hydrolysate for biotechnological production of xylitol / Avaliação do carvão vegetal ativado e polímero vegetal na destoxificação do hidrolisado hemicelulósico de bagaço de cana-de-açúcar para a produção biotecnológica de xilitol
The increasing search for ethanol fuel in order to reduce the dependence and to promote the substitution of fossil fuels will contribute to higher accumulation of sugarcane bagasse in the environment. This biomass that in Brazil is a by-product of the sugar-alcohol mills, although it has been used for the generation of energy in the sugar and alcohol product

6. Performance evaluation of commercial copper chromites as burning rate catalyst for solid propellants
Abstract: Copper chromites are well known as burning rate catalysts for the combustion of composite solid propellants, used as a source of energy for rocket propulsion. The propellant burning rate depends upon the catalyst characteristics such as chemical composition and specific surface area. In this work, copper chromite samples from different suppliers we

Activated carbon production by spent coffee grounds: use as adsorbent and catalytic support for organic pollutants removal from aqueous medium
In this work, the preparation of activated carbons (AC) using spent coffee grounds and three activating agents CO2 (AC CO2), water vapor (AC H2O) and K2CO3 (ACK) were evaluated. These AC showed microporous nature with high surface area, except for AC CO2. These materials, as well the commercial AC (ACC) were tested as adorvents for the organic contaminant mo

8. Obtaining magnesium and vanadium catalysts supported on activated carbon for the production of styrene.
The main route industrially used for styrene production is the ethylbenzene catalytic dehydrogenation, responsible for more than 90% of its worldwide capacity. The industrial process is performed at the temperature range of 550-700 C with an excess of heated steam over potassium and chromium-promoted iron oxide catalysts, which are toxic and have 2-year life

9. Sintese e caracterização de nanoparticulas de oxidos de ferro para aplicações biomedicas / Synthesis and characterization of iron oxides nanoparticles for biomedical applications
In this work, morphological, structural and magnetic investigations were performed in iron oxide nanoparticles synthesized by chemical methods. Our goal was to correlate the synthesis parameters to the characteristics of the produced particles to improve their quality when compared to commercial samples and to evaluate their applicability in biomedicine. The

Redox processes within clays and clay minerals influence significantly in different physical and chemical properties in soils and sediments, mainly which ones related to the chemical interaction between solid and solution phases (liquid or gas) such as superficial charge and ion dynamics. Other, like expansibility, water retention capacity, surface area, and

Influence of preparation method on properties of iron oxide supported.
Styrene is one of the most important basic chemicals to produce valuable commodities such as polystyrene, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene and styrene-butadiene-styrene. It is commercially produced by the dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene in the presence of large amounts of steam at high temperatures of 600-700 oC. This process is thermodynamically limited and
