2. Open Reduction and Internal Fixation of Mandibular Fracture without Rigid Maxillomandibular Fixation
Introduction The ability to treat fracture with open reduction and internal fixation (OR/IF) has dramatically revolutionized the approach to mandible fracture. With OR/IF, the postoperative role of rigid maxillomandibular fixation (MMF) has declined, but it is used to maintain proper occlusion until internal fixation of the fracture is achieved. Objective

5. Partial maxillary osteotomy following an unsuccessful forced eruption of an impacted maxillary canine: 10 year follow-up. Review and case report
The maxillary canines are amongst the most frequently impacted teeth, second only to the third molars. Several conservative orthodontic and surgical techniques are available to position the teeth properly in the dental arch, even in severe cases. However, when an extraction is necessary, it often leaves a critical alveolar defect of difficult management. The

6. Educação pós-operatória: construção e validação de uma tecnologia educativa para pacientes submetidos à cirurgia ortognática / Post-operative education: construction and validation of an educational technology for patients undergoing orthognathic surgery
The orthognathic surgery consists of correcting dental facial deformities and aims to improve esthetical, functional and anatomical features of the structure of the patients face. Given the increased prevalence of this surgical modality and a lack of information available to patients undergoing this procedure, this study presents the construction and validat

8. Enxerto sintético e biológico, com e sem preenchimento de veia jugular externa, no reparo de nervo periférico em ratos / Syntetic and biological graft, filled with the external jugular vein in the repair of peripheral nerve in rats
Despite the development of technology involved in peripheral nerve regeneration, there is no technique that presents a recovery of the nervous tissue with completely satisfactory results. This fact arouses interest of several researchers around the word. Although the autologous nerve grafting is the current gold standard for the repair of large nerve gaps, o

12. Avaliação da expansão ossea imediata da maxila por meio de exame radiografico cefalometrico
This study was to evaluate the bone volume after the use of the technique of immediate bone expansion for the placement of dental implants making use of oblique lateral cephalometric projection of the anterior maxila. Eighteen surgical interventions were carried out. The selected alveolar bone was measured before and after surgery, then 25 and 45 days later.
