1. Integração entre redes LonWorks e redes IP: aplicações, requisitos e soluções. / LonWorks and IP networks interconnection: applications, requirements and solutions.

2. Detection of human papillomavirus DNA in cervical lavage specimens by a nonisotopic consensus PCR assay.
A gene amplification method that combines PCR with an enzyme immunoassay (PCR-EIA) for quantitation of amplified DNA was developed for the detection of human papillomavirus (HPV). Samples were amplified with consensus primers MY09 and MY11. Amplified DNA products were reacted in solution with type-specific nested RNA probes labelled with digoxigenin-11-UTP.

3. Vulval swabs as alternative specimens for ligase chain reaction detection of genital chlamydial infection in women.
A ligase chain reaction (LCR)-based assay was recently shown to be highly sensitive and specific for the detection of Chlamydia trachomatis not only in cervical specimens but also in first-void urine (FVU) specimens form women. The suitability of using vulval swabs as an alternative specimen that can be obtained by noninvasive means for the diagnosis of geni

4. Evaluation of Two Rapid Assays for Detection of Clostridium difficile Toxin A in Stool Specimens
Rapid laboratory diagnosis of Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea (CDAD) is highly desirable in the setting of hospital cost containment. We tested 654 stool specimens to compare the performance of two assays for rapid detection of toxin A, the Immunocard Toxin A test (Meridian Diagnostics, Inc.) and the Culturette Brand Toxin CD enzyme immunoassay (EI
