1. Efficiency of electricity distribution companies
Abstract Purpose After assessing papers on efficiency, most of the studies available are focused on the analysis of efficiency measures, without providing a deep discussion of the factors that determine efficiency. This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of Brazilian electricity distribution companies based on a structural model that enables the identifi

2. Energy Management in Energy-Intensive Industries: Developing a Conceptual Map
Abstract This paper presents the development of a conceptual map regarding energy management applied to industry. The energy issue is currently of great relevance, especially for the so-called energy-intensive industries related to high energy consumption and their associated environmental impacts. The present research is characterized as a basic, explorato

3. Ultrasound power and irrigation volume in different lens opacity grades: comparison of femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery and conventional phacoemulsification
OBJECTIVES: To compare the amount of ultrasound energy and irrigation volume in conventional phacoemulsification cataract surgery versus femtosecond laser-assisted phacoemulsification at different nuclear-cortical cataract grades. METHOD: This was a prospective, consecutive, investigator-masked nonrandomized parallel cohort study. Patients were divided int

4. DESAFIO NA ESCOLHA DOS SOLVENTES EM SÍNTESE - O WORKUP COMO EXEMPLO
A procedure for the assessment and optimization of the greenness of solvents in synthesis was developed. It involves two optimization components, aiming at the optimization of both the intrinsic greenness of the solvents and their efficiency to improve the overall green performance of the synthesis, evaluated with mass, energy and time greenness metrics. The

5. Diet Quality Index associated with Digital Food Guide: update and validation

6. Dietary Management of the Ketogenic Glycogen Storage Diseases
Abstract The glycogen storage diseases (GSDs) comprise a group of rare inherited disorders of glycogen metabolism. The hepatic glycogenolytic forms of these disorders are typically associated with hypoglycemia and hepatomegaly. For GSD I, secondary metabolic disturbances include fasting hyperlactatemia, hyperuricemia, and hyperlipidemia. Glycogen storage dis

7. Lipid Profile Determination by Direct Infusion ESI-MS and Fatty Acid Composition by GC-FID in Human Milk Pools by Folch and Creamatocrit Methods
Human milk (HM) is extremely important to the baby, containing a varied and balanced range of nutrients fundamental to the ideal development of the newborn. Among these nutrients, HM lipids provide 40-60% of the energy. In HM banks, the creamatocrit method is employed as a quick and solvent-free tool, however, since Folch methodology is considered reference

8. Performance and morphometry of the intestinal mucosa of laying hens fed diets containing xylanase
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of dietary energy level reduction and xylanase inclusion on the performance and on intestinal mucosa morphometry of two- to six-week-old laying hens. In total, 400 Hy-line W36 laying hens were distributed according to a completely randomized design in 2 x 2 factorial arrangement (energy level x inclusion

9. Metabolizable energy values of diets supplemented with xylanase determined with laying hens
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the supplementation of xylanase in diets with reduced energy level on the apparent metabolizable energy corrected for nitrogen, determined with laying hens at 14, 36, 60 and 80 weeks of age. Four digestibility trials were conducted, using 80 Hy-line W36 laying hens aged 14, 36, 60 and 80 weeks of age.

10. Digestible lysine requirement of Nile tilapia fingerlings fed arginine-tolysine-balanced diets
This study was conducted to determine the digestible lysine requirements of Nile tilapia fingerlings. Fish (n = 300; average initial weight = 1.44 g) were distributed 15 300-L aquariums, in a completely randomized design with five treatments and three replicates, and fed extruded diets containing 11.3, 13.7, 16.1, 18.4 or 20.8 g/kg of digestible lysine. 11. NSINKS: protocolo de roteamento para redes de sensores sem fio em redes com vários sorvedouros / Wireless sensor networks; Routing protocols; Sinalgo simulator
This work describes the operation of NSINKS, a protocol based ont DESRO protocol, that has the feature of working with more than one sink node and allows dynamic route management in a Wireless Sensor Network. A comparison between protocols NSINKS and DESRO was performed, using the Sinalgo simulator, that showed that the use of multiple sink nodes can increas

12. Crescimento, hematologia e metabolismo de pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus) submetido ao exercício aeróbico e alimentado com níveis crescentes de proteínas
The composition of the diet, the metabolic adaptations and variations in the activity of the fish are the main factors responsible for seasonal changes in physiological variables. It is known that aerobic exercise can improve the fish growth due to: the enhancement of feed conversion, reduced dominance, increased protein synthesis and lipid and glucose catab
