1. Evaluation of a rapid detection method of Salmonella in comparison with the culture method and microbiological quality in fish from the Brazilian Amazon
Abstract Microbiological safety of fish is a concern of consumers, industries and regulatory agencies worldwide. Among the pathogenic microorganisms, Salmonella spp. is one of the main agents of foodborne diseases and should be absent in animal products. Rapid and accurate identification of pathogens in the supply chain is important for both quality assuranc

2. USO DE UM SCANNER DE MESA E ESPUMA DE POLIURETANO PARA QUANTIFICAÇÃO DE FERRO TOTAL EM CÁPSULAS DE SUPLEMENTOS ALIMENTARES
In this work, an alternative and low-cost technique for the extraction and quantification of Fe (total) from food supplements by digital image analysis is shown. The method is based on the complexation of Fe ions in solution with the 8-hydroxyquinoline ligand, forming a colored complex that is extractable from aqueous solution to polyurethane foam, coloring

6. Corrosion and Micro-abrasive Wear Behaviour of 2524-T3 Aluminium Alloy with PAni-NPs/PSS LbL Coating
In this paper, we present an alternative method to obtain thin films for coating protection on the surface of the AA2524-T3 Al-alloy by using the Layer-by-Layer (LbL) technique. The LbL films were fabricated by alternated immersion of the Al-alloy into a poly(styrene sulfonate) (PSS) and polyaniline nanoparticles (PAni-NPs) solutions, obtaining a PAni-NPs/PS

7. Brazilian cross-cultural adaptation of “Return-to-work self-efficacy” questionnaire
ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE To describe the translation and early stages of cross-cultural adaptation of the questionnaire Verwachtingen over werken (or “Return-to-work self-efficacy”) for workers in sick leave due to mental disorders, from the original in Dutch to the Brazilian Portuguese language. METHODS A panel gathering experts was formed to determine the

8. Electrophysiological investigation of the functional overlap between semantic and equivalence relations
Recent research using the event-related potential (ERP) technique has shown that equivalence relations have properties similar to genuine semantic relations. This study aimed to advance electrophysiological investigations of the functional overlap between semantic and equivalence relations. The N400 component, an index of semantic processing, was used to mea

9. Development of pitanga nectar with different sweeteners by sensory analysis: ideal pulp dilution, ideal sweetness, and sweetness equivalence
The objective of this study was to develop pitanga nectar formulations in which sucrose was replaced with different sweeteners. Consumer tests were conducted with 50 fruit juice consumers, and a just-about-right scale was used to determine the ideal pulp dilution and ideal sweetness with sucrose. Furthermore, the adequate concentrations of six sweeteners wer

10. Overtraining increases the strength of equivalence relations
The present study investigated whether overtraining of the conditional discriminations that are the prerequisites of equivalence class formation strengthens the relations among stimuli in an equivalence class. Two groups of college students formed equivalence classes that consisted of faces that expressed emotions (A) and arbitrary stimuli (B, C, D, and E).

11. Controle de estímulos e formação de classes de estímulos equivalentes em crianças e em indivíduos com Síndrome de Down / Stimulus control and stimulus class formation in children and individuals with Down syndrome
Two studies evaluated emergent stimulus-stimulus relations and selection and rejection controlling relations. Study 1 evaluated controlling relations after two types of conditional discrimination training: standard matching-to-sample (MTS) tasks and tasks using the blank comparison MTS. Participants were five preschool children and two adults and one child w

12. Equivalência de estímulos e generalização recombinativa no seguimento de instruções com pseudofrases (verboobjeto) / Stimulus equivalence and recombinative generalization of instructionfollowing with pseudo-phrases (action-object)
An important issue in the field of verbal behavior is how a person understands and learns to behave according to verbal commands or instructions. The stimulus equivalence paradigm, as a model of symbolic behavior, may explain the origins of the comprehension of instructions. Following new instructions can result from the recombination of subunits of previous
