1. Influence of the chemical structure of different carboxymethylcelluloses on the performance of clay dispersions

2. A study of the metallic silver dissolution with the MEA-NH3-Cu system
ABSTRACT Leaching of silver from minerals has been studied for decades. Recently, research has been focused on the substitution of cyanide (because of its high toxicity) from hydrometallurgical operations. In this sense, the development of alternative-green leaching solutions for the recovery of metallic silver from minerals and urban mines is necessary. In

4. Sintese de cimento osseo a base de a-TCP e estudo da influencia do Mg e do Si em suas propriedades finais / a-TCP calcium phosphate cement and the influence of Mg and Si substitution on its final properties
The need for new biomaterials which could improve life quality of people who suffer from oldness diseases or who have any bone tissue injury due to accidents and diseases like obesity and cancer are resulting in a growing number of researches. In this context, the development of new orthopedics biomaterials based on calcium phosphates compounds is relevant o

5. Comparison between two techniques of volemic expansion during surgery to total hip arthroplasty: hydroxyethyl starch (130/0,4) and lactateds Ringer solutions. Study prospective, randomized / Estudo prospectivo randomizado comparando duas técnicas de expansão volêmica em cirurgia de artroplastia total de quadril: hidroxietilamido (130/0,4) e Ringer lactato
Introduction: Hydroxyethyl starches (HES) are considered effective plasma expanders in patients undergoing major surgeries. However, the clinical use of HES is limited mainly by their affection of hemostasis, detectable by impaired platelet function and altered coagulation. The extent of such alteration has classically been related to the molecular weight or

6. MODELAGEM SÍSMICA EM ARENITOS: EFEITO DA DISPERSÃO DA VELOCIDADE E DO TIPO DE FLUIDO / SANDSTONE SEISMIC MODELING: EFFECTS OF VELOCITY DISPERSION AND FLUID TYPE
The evaluation of reservoir dynamics during production through time-lapse interpretation has reached a substantial importance in the petroleum industry, mainly in sandstones. This evaluation presents many challenges, mainly concerned to unmask the overlapping of different effects in seismic data due to reservoir changes. Several factors affect seismic proper

7. Steady state simulation of the operation of an evaporative cooled water-ammonia absorption scale ice maker with experimental basis
A steady-state model is presented of the operation of a water-ammonia absorption system for production of scale ice. The model involves relations of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics, and uses simplifying assumptions for the internal mass transfer processes, leading to a non-linear system with more than 100 unknowns and equations, that are r

8. DISPLACEMENT OF NON-NEWTONIAN LIQUIDS IN ECCENTRIC ANNULI / DESLOCAMENTO DE LÍQUIDOS NÃO NEWTONIANOS EM TUBOS ANULARES EXCÊNTRICOS
In cementing processes of oil wells, the mud formerly used to drag the gravel, to lubricate and to cool the drill is removed and substituted by a cement mixture. This substitution is obtained by the displacement of a fluid by another in the annulus between the rock formation and the casing. For best results of cementing process, intermediate fluids, also cal

9. Development of a bioprocess for the production of actinomycin-D
S. parvulus was selected from three species of Streptomyces that produce actinomycins, as it has the greatest antibiotic activity (152 mg/L) and produces only actinomycin-D. Aiming at improving the antibiotic production in shaken flasks, the substitution of glucose by fructose in concentrations of 20, 30 and 40 g/L was investigated. In all cases this replace

10. Modelagem dinamica e analise do processo de extração supercritica de oleaginosas
Since the third decade of the century XX, it has been accomplishing the extraction process of oleaginous for hexane. As this substance is toxic and highly flammable, it has been intensifying the search of solvents that produce oil of good quality using clean technologies, minimizing the damage to the environment and production envirenment. It is in this cont

12. Metabolic Requirement for Inorganic Phosphate by the Rabbit Proximal Tubule: EVIDENCE FOR A CRABTREE EFFECT
These studies examine the effects of acute changes in the availability of inorganic phosphate on the function of isolated proximal renal tubules from rabbit kidney. We removed phosphate from the extracellular fluids and measured fluid absorption rates in isolated perfused tubules and oxygen consumption rates in suspensions of cortical tubules. In proximal co
