1. Freezing methods affect the characteristics of large yellow croaker (Pseudosciaena crocea): use of cryogenic freezing for long-term storage
Abstract Large yellow croaker (Pseudosciaena crocea) is the main coastal economic fish in China. After harvesting, the fish is rarely traded as the fresh product, but usually held in cold storage. Therefore, it is important to understand the quality changes occurring during preservation. In this study, freshly collected fishes were frozen by cryogenic (cabin

2. The effect of cooking methods on some quality characteristics of gluteus medius
Abstract In this research, the effects of cooking by convection oven and cooking by sous-vide method on the physicochemical, textural, sensorial and microbiological of gluteus medius cuts were investigated. For the sous-vide method, the meat was vacuumed sealed in special packaging material (Mylar®Cook) before being stored at + 1 °C for 0, 15, and 30 days

3. Evolução da excentricidade dos sistemas binários com componente evoluída
On this study we have revisited the predicted tidal circularization theory in close binary systems with a evolved component. Close binaries suffer tidal interactions that tend to synchronize periods and circularize the orbits (Zahn 1977, 1989, 1992). According to Zahns theory we compute the integral that give us the variation of the eccentricity in a binary

4. Integração dos processos de eletrodiálise e de degradação fotoquímica para o tratamento de efluentes salinos contendo fenol. / Integration of electrodialysis and photochemical degradation process for the treatment of a saline wastewater containing phenol.
Chemical oxidation processes can be used to treat industrial wastewater containing non-biodegradable organic compounds. However, the presence of dissolved salts may inhibit or retard the treatment process. In this work, a coupled process is studied including a desalination step by electrodialysis (ED) associated with an advanced oxidation process (photo-Fent

5. Experimentos com o modelo regional eta em diferentes configurações durante o período salljex e mecanismos de mesoescala associados ao desenvolvimento de scm / Experiments with the regional eta model in different settings during the salljex period and mesoescale mechanisms associated with MCS development
The rainfall regime over southern Brazil, Uruguay and northern Argentina is strongly influenced by Mesoscale Convective Complexes (MCCs) that develop during night time associated with the Low Level Jet (LLJ) to the east of Andes. As they are mesoscale systems, their predictability depends on the model resolution and ability in representing the main features

6. Aspects of fabrication and characterization of electro-thermal micro-actuators
This study examines the behavior of well known simple thermal micro-actuators. This work describes some unexplored aspects of the employed methodology to produce these electro-thermal micro-actuators (ETMs). These information could be time saving for new groups to start research and development on electro-thermal actuators. The focus of the applied methodolo

7. Thermo-fluid dynamics to pseudoplastic fruit juices in cilindrical ducts and concentric annuli.

8. INITIAL VALUE METHOD FOR THE SOLUTION OF NON-SIMILAR BOUNDARY LAYERS APPLIED TO A WEDGE IN MEXED CONVECTION / MÉTODO DE VARREDURA DE VALORES INICIAIS PARA A SOLUÇÃO DE PROBLEMAS NÃO SIMILARES DE CAMADA DE LIMITE APLICADO A UMA CUNHA EM CONVECÇÃO MISTA
The present work introduces a method for searching initial values, to solve non-similar Boundary Layer problems. The new method has been applied to the problem of mixed convection on a Wedge. An analysis is performed to study the effects of buoyancy force on the heat transfer and friction characteristics of laminar forced convection flow which is either main

9. New patterns of centrifugally driven thermal convection
An experimental study is described of convection driven by thermal buoyancy in the annular gap between two corotating coaxial cylinders, heated from the outside and cooled from the inside. Steady convection patterns of the hexaroll and of the knot type are observed in the case of high Prandtl number fluids, for which the Coriolis force is sufficiently small.

10. Estimated potassium reflection coefficient in perfused proximal convoluted tubules of the anaesthetized rat in vivo.
1. As yet there is no definitive description of the mechanism and route by which K+ reabsorption is achieved in the proximal convoluted tubule (PCT). We have assessed the contribution of convective K+ transport to net potassium ion flux (JK) by estimating the reflection coefficient of K+ (sigma K) in the proximal tubule of anaesthetized rats previously prepa
