1. Effects of ensiling density on nutritive value of maize and sorghum silages
ABSTRACT Studies were conducted to determine the effects of different ensiling densities on fermentation, aerobic stability, and nutritive value of maize and sorghum silages. Maize and sorghum were harvested at dough (363 g/kg) and milk stages (275 g/kg), respectively. Herbages were chopped approximately 1.5 cm after harvest and then ensiled in mini silos at

2. Herbage accumulation and grazing losses on Mulato grass subjected to strategies of rotational stocking management
Grazing management strategies affect not only herbage accumulation but also the efficiency of grazing. This study aimed to evaluate herbage accumulation (leaf, stem and dead material), grazing efficiency and losses of mulato grass (a Brachiaria ruziziensis × Brachiaria brizantha cv. Marandu hybrid) subjected to strategies of rotational stocking management.

3. PLANT-ANIMAL RELATION AT DIFFERENT GRAZING INTENSITY WITH SHEEP IN ITALIAN RYEGRASS (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) / RELAÇÃO PLANTA-ANIMAL EM DIFERENTES INTENSIDADES DE PASTEJO COM OVINOS EM AZEVÉM ANUAL (Lolium multiflorum Lam.)
This work aimed to evaluate the utilization of different grazing intensity on the productive and structural characteristics of pasture and on the ingestive behaviour and performance of sheep in continuous grazing. The treatment were different herbage masses (HM) in Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.) pasture: LHM: 1000-1200 kg/ha of dry matter (DM); I

4. Regrowth dynamics of mombaça grass pastures submitted to intermittent defoliation regimes. / Dinâmica da rebrotação de pastos de capim-mombaça submetidos a regimes de desfolhação intermitente.
Grazing management is a key element determining the utilization efficiency and the nutritive value of the herbage produced. This study aimed at evaluating and describing the dynamics of herbage accumulation in Mombaça grass pastures submitted to intermittent defoliation regimes. The experiment was carried out at Universidade Federal de São Carlos, Araras,

5. Produção de forragem e transformações do nitrogênio do fertilizante em pastagem irrigada de capim Tanzânia. / Herbage production and transformations of the fertilizer nitrogen in irrigated tanzania grass.
Whilst grazing management is a key component in pastoral systems little effort has been made to determine the adequate grazing intensity for tropical pastures, especially under irrigated conditions. The economical attractiveness of irrigated pasture systems depends on high pasture productivity, meaning that fertilizer nitrogen (N) must be used. However, to m

6. Efeitos de intensidades de pastejo e períodos de ocupação da pastagem na massa de forragem e nas perdas e valor nutritivo da matéria seca do capim-mombaça (Panicum maximum Jacq. cv. Mombaça). / Effects of grazing intensity and paddock grazing periods on mass of herbage, losses and nutritional value of mombaçagrass (Panicum maximum Jacq.).
