1. Seasonal variation of epiphytic hydroids (Cnidaria: Hydrozoa) associated to a subtropical Sargassum cymosum (Phaeophyta: Fucales) bed
Hydroids are broadly reported in epiphytic associations from different localities showing marked seasonal cycles. Studies have shown that the factors behind these seasonal differences in hydroid richness and abundance may vary significantly according to the area of study. Seasonal differences in epiphytic hydroid cover and richness were evaluated in a Sargas

2. Biofouling e biodeterioração química de argamassa de cimento portland em reservatório de usina hidroelétrica
Last decade Brazilian rivers experimented progressive biofouling of Limnoperna fortunei communities and Cordylophora caspia hydroids. The microhabitat is so favorable that in around 1.5 years L. fortunei increased from 0.39 to nearby 149,000 units/m². Ten Portland cement mortar samples were produced with 1: 3.5: 0.4 dosages and installed for 1 year at Salto

3. Faunistic and geographic distribution of benthic hydroids (Cnidaria, Hydrozoa) from southwestern Atlantic / Faunística e distribuição geográfica de hidróides bentônicos (Cnidaria, Hydrozoa) do sudoeste do Atlântico

The epizoic associations within Hydrozoa (Cnidária: Leptothecata, Anthoatehcata and Limnomedusae): I) Faunistic study of the epizoic hydrozoans and their associated organisms; II) The dinamics of benthic communities on artificial substrates from São Sebastião, SP.
2.1 The associations between animal groups and species of sponges are relatively well known and described in the literature. Of all the cnidarian groups, the most diverse associations with sponges are found among the hydrozoans. In this study, 117 species of epizoic hydroids were found on two classes of sponge substrates (Hexactinellida and Demospongiae). Th

5. Redescrição e ciclo de vida de Clytia gracilis e Clytia linearis (Cnidaria, Hydrozoa, Campanulariidae). / Redescription and life cycle of Clytia gracilis and Clytia linearis (Cnidaria, Hydrozoa, Campanulariidae).
he life-cycles of Clytia linearis (Thornely, 1899) and two species with characters considered diagnostic of Clytia gracilis (M. Sars, 1850) Clytia cf. gracilis sp. 1 and Clytia cf. gracilis sp. 2 have been studied based on specimens collected in the shallow subtidal coast of São Sebastião and Ilhabela, southeast Brazil, between February 1999 and Apri

6. Expression of a Hox gene, Cnox-2, and the division of labor in a colonial hydroid
We report the isolation and expression of the Hox gene, Cnox-2, in Hydractinia symbiolongicarpus, a hydrozoan displaying division of labor. We found different patterns of aboral-to-oral Cnox-2 expression among polyp polymorphs, and we show that experimental conversion of one polyp type to another is accompanied by concordant alteration in Cnox-2 expression.
