1. Membrane permeabilization of colistin toward pan-drug resistant Gram-negative isolates
Abstract Pan-drug resistant Gram-negative bacteria, being resistant to most available antibiotics, represent a huge threat to the medical community. Colistin is considered the last therapeutic option for patients in hospital settings. Thus, we were concerned in this study to demonstrate the membrane permeabilizing activity of colistin focusing on investigati

2. Ex vivo microbial leakage after using different final irrigation regimens with chlorhexidine
Objective To assess the influence of final irrigation protocols with chlorhexidine in the coronal leakage of Enterococcus faecalis in filled root canals. Material and Methods Seventy single-root canals from extracted teeth were prepared using ProTaper instruments. The irrigation protocol accomplished an alternating irrigation with 5 mL of 2.5% sodium hypoc

3. Estudo in vitro de um material para selamento da interface implante-intermediário do tipo minipilar cônico em implantes de hexágono externo, hexágono interno e cone morse / In vitro sealing of a material of implant-abutment interface of mini conical pillar: inimplant external hexagon, internal hexagon and Morse taper
Microbial and fluidic leakage in the implant-abutment interface are shown in literature through a variety of studies, accusing the space that exists between the components of the implant, called \"GAP\", which seems to be the source of the microorganism infiltration, either from the external to the internal environment or the inverse, resulting in inflammato

4. Infiltração microbiana por Enterococcus faecalis em canais retrobturados com MTA, iRoot SP e Endo CPM Sealer / Microbial leakage by Enterococcus faecalis in root retrofilling with MTA, iRoot SP and Endo COM Sealer

5. Capacidade de selamento de três materiais retrobturadores frente à infiltração microbiana por Enterococcus faecalis / Sealing ability of three root-end filling materials front to the microbial leakage by Enterococcus faecalis

Objetive The aim of the present study was to assess the recontamination time of root canals filled with master Gutta-percha ProTaper point after exposure to human saliva. Methodology Fifty intact, caries-free, premolars with single roots and mature apices were selected for the study. After biomechanical preparation with the ProTaper Universalâ rotary system

8. Avaliação da infiltração microbiana na interface implante-abutment em conexões tipo hexágono interno e cone-morse de implantes osseointegráveis / Evaluation of bacterial leakage at implant abutment interfaces of implants wiht internal hexagonal
The scientific literature has reported that dental implants can be affected by the oral microorganisms through the formation of a bacterial biofilm. The region most affected is the connection between the implant platform and the prosthetic abutment, particularly in implants with an external connection. Therefore, the region of the implant/abutment connection

10. Microbial leakage and apical inflammatory response in dog's teeth after root canal filling with different sealers, post space preparation and exposure to the oral environment
Coronal leakage is an important factor affecting the outcome of endodontic therapy. This study evaluated the microbial leakage (ML) and the apical inflammatory response (AIR) in dog's teeth after root canal filling with three endodontic sealers, post preparation and exposure to the oral environment, testing the hypothesis that there is a positive correlation

This in vivo study evaluated the microbial coronal leakage in dogs endodontically treated teeth, post space preparation and with the remaining filling protected or not with different materiais. A hundred thirty six root canais of incisives and pre-molars of 6 dogs were used. After the anesthesia of the animais, these teeth were endodontically prepared. Hundr

12. Disruption of the permeability barrier (zonula occludens) between intestinal epithelial cells by lethal doses of endotoxin.
A freeze-fracture technique was used to examine the most apical intercellular junctional complex between intestinal epithelial cells (the tight or occluding junction) in mice after challenge with endotoxin. Some of these junctions were disrupted after challenge and may be a site for leakage of microbial agents from the lumen.
