1. Feline herpesvirus 1 viral load related to environmental factors in sheltered cats

2. Single-tube nested PCR assay with in-house DNA extraction for Mycobacterium tuberculosis detection in blood and urine
Abstract: INTRODUCTION : Molecular analyses are auxiliary tools for detecting Koch's bacilli in clinical specimens from patients with suspected tuberculosis (TB). However, there are still no efficient diagnostic tests that combine high sensitivity and specificity and yield rapid results in the detection of TB. This study evaluated single-tube nested polymer

3. Polyvinyl pyrrolidone-assisted synthesis of crystalline manganese vanadate microtubes
Manganese vanadate microtubes have been synthesized by a facile polyvinyl pyrrolidone-assisted hydrothermal route. X-ray diffraction pattern confirms that the microtubes are composed of monoclinic MnV2O6, tetragonal V2O5 and orthorhombic MnO2 phases. The outer diameter and inner diameter of the microtubes are about 300 nm-3 µm and 200 nm-1 µm, respectively

HE) - Hexágono Interno (HI) - Cone Morse (CM) / Quantitative analysis of Evans blue dye leakage from internal implant chambers through their prosthetic interfaces under the following conditions: External Hexagon (HE) Internal Hexagon (IH) Morse Cone (MC)
Research and studies seek to evaluate the capacity of adaptation and sealing between the implant-intermediate connections of different dental implant systems. It has recently been observed that in implants with screw-retained abutments, various phenomena, such as screw4 loosening and fracture, rotation and fracture of the abutment with bacterial penetration

5. Desenvolvimento e avaliação de um sistema de irrigação com ultra baixa vazão utilizando microtubos ramificados / Development and evaluation of an irrigation system with ultra low flow using microtubes branched
Nesse sentido, o

7. Morfologia do sistema reprodutor masculino e dos espermatozóides de duas espécies de Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonoidea) / Male reproductive system and sperm morphology in two Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera: Parasitic)
The male reproductive system of the Lymeon dieloceri and Myschocyttarus atramentarius parasitoids is formed by a pair of testes with one folicles each, a pair of accessory glands, a pair of vasa deferentia and one ejaculatory duct. The vasa deferentia are thin, long, without characteristic dilatation of the seminal vesicle, and they get in the base of the te

8. Modeling, development of software for designing, and evaluation of drip irrigation systems with microtubes.
The use of microtubes has been increasing especially in poor countries of Asia and Africa, where international organizations struggle for the development of small farmers through the insertion of low cost technologies. Within this context and with the intention of offering technical and scientific background for the development of a low cost and high technol

9. Liquid Scintillation Radioassay in Disposable Microcentrifuge Tubes: Radioimmune Precipitates and Other Applications
A simple, economical radioassay system employing disposable polypropylene microcentrifuge tubes was developed. Plastic adapters permitted automatic operation in liquid scintillation spectrometers. Counting efficiencies of 3H, 14C, 32P, and 125I in liquid scintillation cocktails and of 32P by Cerenkov radiation (at lower efficiency in absence of added scintil

10. Clinical evaluation of the rapid carbohydrate degradation microtube method for identification of Neisseria species.
The rapid carbohydrate degradation (Carr Microbiologicals Wichita, Kans.) microtube method is a new test system designed for the identification of Neisseria spp. The system consists of four microtubes containing different carbohydrates in a peptone-Bitone basal medium. This method was evaluated for accuracy and speed in identifying species of Neisseria. Of t

11. Accuracy of a rapid carbohydrate oxidation microtube method for identification of nonfermentative gram-negative bacilli.
A rapid carbohydrate oxidation microtube system (Carr Microbiologicals, Wichita, Kans.), designed for detecting the saccharolytic activity of gram-negative, nonfermenting bacilli, was evaluated and compared with the conventional oxidation-fermentation method. The oxidation of glucose, maltose, lactose, and xylose was tested with 430 strains of Pseudomonas, A

12. Microtube coagulase test for detection of coagulase-positive staphylococci.
Studies were performed to determine the sensitivity and specificity of a new microtube method for the detection of coagulase production by Staphylococcus aureus. Rabbit plasma containing EDTA was added to and lyophilized in API microtubes. Two standard coagulase plasmas containing EDTA were used in the conventional macrotube test and served as a basis for co
