1. Envolvimento de receptores opióides µ1 e das redes neurais do colículo inferior na analgesia pós-ictal / Involvement of the µ1-opioid receptor-mediated system and inferior colliculus in the post-ictal analgesia
A analgesia p

2. mu opiate receptor: cDNA cloning and expression.
mu opiate receptors recognize morphine with high affinity. A 2.1-kb rat brain cDNA whose predicted translation product displays 63% identity with recently described delta and kappa opiate receptor sequences was identified through polymerase chain reaction and cDNA homology approaches. This cDNA recognizes a 10.5-kb mRNA that is expressed in thalamic neurons.

3. cAMP-dependent reversal of opioid- and prostaglandin-mediated depression of the isolated respiratory network in newborn rats.
1. Membrane potential (Vm) and resistance (Rm) of ventral respiratory group (VRG) neurons were measured in the isolated brainstem-spinal cord from newborn rats during bath application of the opioid receptor agonists fentanyl or [D-Ala2, D-Leu5]-enkephalin (Ala-Leu-Enk) and of the prostaglandin E1 (PGE1). 2. PGE1 (0.1-3 microM) and fentanyl or Ala-Leu-Enk (1-

4. Mediation of Endogenous β-endorphin by Tetrandrine to Lower Plasma Glucose in Streptozotocin-induced Diabetic Rats
The role of β-endorphin in the plasma glucose-lowering action of tetrandrine in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats (STZ-diabetic rats) was investigated. The plasma glucose concentration was assessed by the glucose oxidase method. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to determine the plasma level of β-endorphin-like immunoreactivity (BER).
