1. Estudo interdisciplinar em sedimentos lacustres da região sul do estado de São Paulo. Reconstrução da vegetação e do clima no Quaternário tardio / Interdisciplinary study of lacustrine sediments from Southeastern São Paulo state (Brazil). Late Quaternary vegetation and climate changes
One sediment core collected at the margins of a lake surrounded by Atlantic rainforest vegetation at Parque Estadual do Alto Ribeira (PETAR), southern São Paulo state (Brazil), was analyzed, in order to reconstruct the history of the local vegetation over the last 2500 years. Elemental (Total Organic Carbon TOC and Total Organic Nitrogen), isotopic (C and N

3. "Reconstrução paleoambiental (vegetação e clima) no Quaternário tardio com base em estudo multi/interdisciplinar no Vale do Ribeira (sul do Estado de São Paulo)" / Palaeoenvironmental reconstruction (vegetation and climate) in the late Quaternary with multi/interdisciplinary studies in the Vale do Ribeira (south of São Paulo state)
The study sites are in the PETAR - Parque Estadual Turístico do Alto Ribeira and PEI - Parque Estadual Intervales, in the southeastern region of Brazil. The area is characterized by the presence of the native vegetation of Atlantic forest and two natural lakes called LAgoa Grande and Lagoa Vermelha, where three sediment cores were collected. Chemical (C, N

4. "O povo da lagoa: uso do SIG para modelamento e simulação na área arqueológica do Camacho" / "The people of the Lagoon: using GIS for modelling and simulation in the Camacho Archaeological Area"
Data from the Camacho region, southern coast of the Santa Catarina state, southern Brazil, were collected and combined in the GIS GRASS. This region is a coastal plain, with many lagoons, and was occupied by a prehistoric population at least from c. 5,000 years before present (BP) to 1,000 years BP. In this period, the local mean sea level had fallen c. 2 m.

5. Stable isotopes data (delta13C, delta15N) from the cave bear (Ursus spelaeus): a new approach to its palaeoenvironment and dormancy.
Palaeoclimatic data that can be extracted from the isotopic signatures of delta13C and delta15N, which are found in fossil bone collagen, should be analysed according to the specific metabolism of each species. Although Ursus spelaeus is an extinct species, its metabolism is assimilated to current, closely related species of bear. In this study, bone collage
