1. The sedimentary record of wet and dry eolian systems in the Cretaceous of Southeast Brazil: stratigraphic and paleogeographic significance
Abstract Sedimentologic and stratigraphic studies of paleo-deserts from the Brazilian Cretaceous are of great potential to understand the paleoclimate and paleogeography of Gondwana during its final rifting stage. Herein, we describe and discuss two depositional units characterized by two distinct eolian systems that are bounded by a long-lived unconformity.

2. Vegetation and climate changes in the forest of Campinas, São Paulo State, Brazil, during the last 25,000 cal yr BP
Abstract A paleoenvironmental reconstruction was performed in a Riparian Forest near Campinas to improve knowledge of paleoclimate and paleoenvironment in the State of São Paulo, Brazil. A sediment core of 182 cm depth was collected in a swamp located within a Cerrado/Seasonal Semi-deciduous ecotone forest. The chronological frame is given by eight radiocar

3. Salinity and stable oxygen isotope relationship in the Southwestern Atlantic: constraints to paleoclimate reconstructions
Abstract: Stable isotopes have been widely used in the literature both to discuss current ocean circulation processes, as well as to reconstitute paleoceanographic parameters. The distribution of oxygen and deuterium stable isotopes in seawater (δ18Osw and δDsw) at the Western Tropical South Atlantic border was investigated to better understand the main fr

5. Micromorphology of Paleosols of the Marília Formation and their Significance in the Paleoenvironmental Evolution of the Bauru Basin, Upper Cretaceous, Southeastern Brazil
ABSTRACT Deduction of associated paleoenvironments and paleoclimate, definition of the chronosequence of paleosols, and paleogeographic reconstruction have become possible through the application of micromorphology in paleopedology. Micromorphology has also been useful in recognition of weathering processes and definition of minerals formed in succession. In

6. Paleopluviosidade no norte de Minas Gerais durante o glacial tardio e Holoceno com base em registros de espeleotemas / Paleo-precipitation variations in northern Minas Gerais during the later glacial period and Holocene from speleothem records

7. Sedimentology, stable isotopes and palinology of quaternary deposits from eastern of Marajó Island, Pará State / Sedimentologia, isótopos estáveis e palinologia de depósitos quaternários no leste da Ilha do Marajó, Estado do Pará
Analysis of Quaternary sediments in Amazonia is of great interest for reconstructing the dynamic evolution of its drainage basin, and to support discussions related to paleoclimate, sea level and tectonics. Few studies emphasize this type of approach, which is mainly due to lack of natural exposures due to the low topography of the area. This work integrates

8. Tafolara Neógena da Formação Pindamonhangaba, bacia de taubaté, em Jacareí, estado de São Paulo Brasil. / Tafolara Neógena Training Pindamonhangaba bowl taubaté in Jacarei, São Paulo Brazil.
This work presents a paleobotanical analysis of a Neogene taphoflora of the Pindamonhangaba Formation, localized in the City of Jacareí (SP), based on the morphographic, taxonomic and taphonomic aspects looking for information on paleoenvironment, paleoclimate and paleophytogeographic conditions under which the original flora was submitted. The taphoflorist

10. Análise sismoestratigráfica dos carbonatos terciários da porção sul da Bacia de Santos / Sismoestratigraphy analisis of tertiary carbonates of South part of Santos Basin
Based on the sequence stratigraphy and on the excellent quality of the seismic data, a systematic study was used to better understand the development of the siliciclastic / carbonatic sedimentation of the southern portion of Santos Basin, occurred during Miocene. The database includes a multichannel seismic data, with approximately 500 km of linear data, and

12. O QuaternÃrio do Parque Nacional Serra da Capivara, PiauÃ, Brasil: morfoestratigrafia, sedimentologia, geocronologia e paleoambientes
The Serra da Capivara National Park is internationally recognized because it houses the most important concentration of rock paintings and archeological sites in the American continent. Vestiges of human occupation are distributed in 1.000 archeological sites many times located in Quaternary sediments, with few researches realized until the moment. The objec
