1. Does Oral Submucous Fibrosis Affect the Hearing Ability of an Individual? A Cross-Sectional Study in North Indian Population
Abstract Objective: To evaluate the hearing efficiency of Oral Submucous Fibrosis (OSF) patients using Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA) and to correlate between the hearing efficiency and clinical stage of OSF. Material and Methods: Twenty-five patients clinically diagnosed as OSF were evaluated for hearing loss using ‘PTA’. Patients were grouped as mild cas

2. Sobre uma Construção Relacionada ao Quadrado Tensional não-Abeliano de um Grupo / On a Construction Related to the non-Abelian Tensor Square of a Group
Sejam G e Gj grupos isomorfos.

5. Implementação dos efeitos da não linearidade do tensor de Reynolds em modelos de turbulência baseados na hipótese de Boussinesq / Implementation of non linear effects of Reynolds tensor on turbulence models based on Boussinesq approximation
The main goal of this work is to implement and evaluate the correction proposed by Spalart [53] on turbulence models based on Boussinesq approximation. The objective of this correction is to capture non linear effects of Reynolds tensor, which are not correctly predicted and modeled by Boussinesq approximation. In his work, Spalart [53] proposed the correcti

6. Métodos de elementos finitos estabilizados para escoamentos de Darcy e de Stokes-Darcy acoplados / Stabilized finite element methods for darcy and coupled stokes-darcy flows
In this thesis we propose new stabilized finite element methods for Darcy flow and for the coupled Stokes-Darcy flow. We review the Galerkin method applied to the classical variational formulations of the Darcy s system, and comment on some stabilization techniques proposed in the literature. Through the consistent combination of least square residuals of th

7. Distribuição de fases de escoamento a bolhas em duto de secção quadrada atraves de curva de 180º no plano vertical / Phase segregation in bubbly flow in square section duct inside a 180 degree vertical plan curve
The phase segregation in gas-liquid bubbly flow taking place inside a 180 degree plane curve, i.e., with null torsion, is the subject of this work. Both experimental and numerical approaches have been performed. Thus, aspects as the influence of intensity of centrifugal field on phase segregation, the role played by turbulence on phase segregation and detail

8. Computation of the dipole moments of proteins.
A simple and computationally feasible procedure for the calculation of net charges and dipole moments of proteins at arbitrary pH and salt conditions is described. The method is intended to provide data that may be compared to the results of transient electric dichroism experiments on protein solutions. The procedure consists of three major steps: (i) calcul

9. Gravitational field of a charged mass point
Adopting, with Schwarzschild, the Einstein gauge (ǀμνǀ = -1), a solution of Einstein's field equations for a charged mass point of mass M and charge Q is derived, which differs from the Reissner-Nordstrøm solution only in that the variable r is replaced by R = (r3 + a3)⅓, where a is a constant. The Newtonian gravitational potential ψ ≡ (2/c2)(1 - g
