1. Photosynthetic and enzymatic metabolism of Ormosia arborea (Vell.) Harms under different water availabilities

3. Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) as a Biondicator of Copper and Cadmium Toxicity. A Bioavailability Approach
The acute toxicity of copper and cadmium in Oreochromis niloticus was evaluated through a 96 h static assay. Precipitation of Cu and co-precipitation of Cd in the presence of Cu were noted, being indicative of differences in nominal and actual concentrations of metals. Under these conditions, LC50-96h was determined as 3.53 mg L-1Cu, 20.1 mg L-1 Cd and 1.36

4. Aclimatação da maquinaria fotossintética do cafeeiro cultivado em diferentes níveis de luz e de disponibilidade hídrica / Acclimation of the photosynthetic apparatus of the coffee grown in different levels of light and water availabilities

5. Ladrilhos e revestimentos hidráulicos de alto desempenho / High performance hydraulic tiles and coverings
The hydraulic tiles are coverings produced by using hydraulic binders, whose production technology has not follow the great technological evolution of the concretes, the availabilities of new materials and the usual techniques in recent years, thus they have lost space and competition in the market due to their handicraft characteristic of production. This w

This work aimed to investigate, through an experiment under field conditions, the chemical and physico-hydrical alterations of a typical Argissolo Amarelo EutrÃfico, and the production components of the cowpea bean (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp), in response to the fertigation management with secondary effluent (ME) originated from domestic source, comparing

The present dissertation deals with the development of a Geographic Model for Water Resources Management, with the purpose of assisting the decision taker and the planning about the grant of water uses, instituted from the Brazilian Law 9.433 of 1997, which deals the Water Resources National Politics. The studyâs object is located in Pretoâs river basin po

8. Analysis of environmental sustainability of the superficial freshwater classification system / Análise da sustentabilidade ambiental do sistema de classificação das águas doces superficiais
Brazil is a country endowed with great superficial water reserves and aquatic biodiversity, despite its unequal distribution among diverse hydrographic regions. In view of the sustainable development concept established in many international environment and water treated, objectified to the aquatic ecosystems preservation and the equitable distribution of th

9. Effects of Soil and Water Content on Methyl Bromide Oxidation by the Ammonia-Oxidizing Bacterium Nitrosomonas europaea†
Little information exists on the potential of NH3-oxidizing bacteria to cooxidize halogenated hydrocarbons in soil. A study was conducted to examine the cooxidation of methyl bromide (MeBr) by an NH3-oxidizing bacterium, Nitrosomonas europaea, under soil conditions. Soil and its water content modified the availability of NH4+ and MeBr and influenced the rela

10. Gene overexpression, purification, and identification of a desulfurization enzyme from Rhodococcus sp. strain IGTS8 as a sulfide/sulfoxide monooxygenase.
The oxidation of dibenzothiophene to dibenzothiophene sulfone has been linked to the enzyme encoded by the sox/dszC gene from Rhodococcus sp. strain IGTS8 (S. A. Denome, C. Oldfield, L. J. Nash, and K. D. Young, J. Bacteriol. 176:6707-6717, 1994; C. S. Piddington, B. R. Kovacevich, and J. Rambosek, Appl. Environ. Microbiol. 61:468-475, 1995). However, this e
